I've been a member of a few online book clubs since I joined the internet way back when I was living at my folks house after a nasty break-up with an abusive ex-boyfriend in 2000. This was around the time when dial-up turned into Broadband; and it was hideously expensive and not everyone could afford it. Thank goodness it became something everyone could afford eventually, eh? Well, I thought to put on here the few sites I use on a regular basis to search for books, catalogue some of my books and - at times - keep count of the books I read.
I use Bookcrossing regularly (as you already know) and love the Bookcrossing website! The funny thing though is that although I talk about and register some of the books I'm reading on Bookcrossing, I don't keep an organized written record of the all the books I've read on Bookcrossing.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, it wasn't until 2009 that I actually began keeping an organized written record of the books/authors I'd read throughout an entire calendar year... This is surprising since I've been an avid reader most of my life.
Anyway, call me old fashion, but I've been keeping track of each book title and the author who wrote the book in a word processing application from Open Office called Writer! I just use this application to hold basic information, like which books (title & author) I've read in chronological order in any given year starting in 2009.
Sounds like a very organised way of keeping track of what you read. I have a notebook that Mum bought me while in the States where I keep my reading list of books. She thought I'd be using it as a journal/diary; however, I do like this one very much and wanted it to last longer than my others, so a reading list it became. And I transcribed the list onto the sidebar (as you can see on the right up the top) to show how many books I've currently read each year.

Writer is like Microsoft Word.
