It's been tough lately.
I'm in a reading and writing drought; and I hate it. But I'm going okay without it for a while; and I know why I haven't been doing either for the last few months.
I finished the 'Fry Nelson: Bounty Hunter' trilogy and an Angelic Romance last year at the same time; and now my brain is more than a little burnt out. So, taking time off from writing anything big is normal.
However, not reading is strange for me. Sure, I can start books, but I lose interest very quickly.
So, this is the reason why I haven't been blogging many posts this month. And for this, I really do apologise.
I have been keeping myself busy through my artistic pursuits and other things as well; but I really would rather be writing books and reading them as well as writing here.
If you guys have any fixes to help me get my nose back into good books, I'd really appreciate it (yep, I'm asking for help here... I'd love to read a good book at some point this year). Until my next post, happy reading.

Sorry to hear that you are in reading and writing slump!! I've been able to finish over 40 reads this year, but I've also abandoned more books than I can recall so far this year. If a book doesn't grab my attention, I've been dumping it right away for the next read. I'm tired of finishing books that I'm not enjoying for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteYou like flash fiction, so what about finding a new collection of flash fiction to read?? Or rereading your favorite Stephen King novel?? Do you think that would help you out of your reading slump?
I've been reading flash fiction... however I haven't found a book filled with them as yet.
DeleteAnd I've also tried re-reading my favourite Stephen King books without success... this truly is a drought I'm suffering through. :/
I've heard Carly Berg's Coffee House Lies is a pretty good collection of flash fiction...
DeleteFlashy Fiction and Other Insane Tales Volumes 1 & 2 by Jen Wylie and Sean Hayden is awesome.
The above books can be purchased through Amazon. There are ebook editions for all three books if you have an ereader.
Oooohh... these sound wonderful! I'll look into them!
DeleteThank you so much for the title suggestions. :D
Since making my last post, I've begun reading Carly Berg's collection of flash fiction and about 64 pages into it... The stories are varied. Some I like, some I don't and others fall somewhere in the middle.
DeleteHey that's okay... some stories are like that. When I write my flash fiction, sometimes I hit the mark, and sometimes I don't.
DeleteWe can't all be perfect. :D
